The Transfiguration

Jesus during his life journey was well trained his disciple and gave them authority to perform wonders among people. Disciples were excellently did their mission. Apart from routine work like preaching, teaching and healing. Jesus wanted them to have a divine experience hence he took 3 of them and show the glory of son of man. These 3 were chosen among the disciples and got privilege to learn from Moses and Elijah about Jesus glorification on the earth. Also got an opportunity to listen the voice of God the father from heaven. These experienced disciples strongly stand in their faith after the death and resurrection of Jesus in Jerusalem and bore witness to Jews and non Jews people.

Here in this passage mountain represents Gods presence. Appearance of  2 great prophets represents mighty work of redemption of people from slavery and idolatry, also represents that Jesus is fulling the laws and prophecy said by the prophets to Jews people. Voice from heaven represent witness to Jesus redemption work. Disciples initially fail to understand the events and discussed among themselves and finally got clarification after had a word with Jesus.  similarly today we too can have the same divine experience. For that we need to see things with our spiritual eyes and walk in faith in our life then at the appointed time God shall reveal his glory to us and make us a partaker in his passion, death and resurrection and make us strong instruments for his mission. Jeremiah 33:3 says “Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known” 

Friends, like disciples sometimes we too do not understand divine intervention in our life. We fails to understand the communication sent to us through dream, vision, word of God, intuition about our life. Instead of discussing within our own peer group let’s have an open mind and get help from spiritually matured person or religious people  and get it clarified so that we can able to listen and understand message of God in any form

Let’s pray to holy spirit to fill us with the gifts of knowledge and understanding so that we may grow in our spiritual life and help others in their spiritual life.
