Reflection on the Gospel of the Seventh Day (Saturday)
|
John 1: 1-18 |
Reading of the last day of the year takes us to the beginning of time. In the beginning when God created the heaven and earth, the earth was formless void and darkness. God commanded let there be a light and there was light. This light dispelled the darkness over the surface of the earth. All the living creature survived and reproduced with the help of light and God found it was good and happy with the light.
When the world was filled with evils and evil doer spread wide on the earth and making the earth back to darkness, God decided to sent his light i.e. Jesus into this world and dwelt among us. This light as soon as reached the earth people lived in darkness found life and guidance for their path. John 8:12 Jesus said “ I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life”. John the Baptist witnessed about this true light and brought life to many people. Many saints and servant of God bearing witness to light in this challenging world Let’s examine our self on the last day of the year . Did I bear witness to true light? Did i took any efforts to reach out people living in darkness? In what way am i going to bear witness to light
Lets take a resolution in this new year to bring hope, joy and light in the life of people who are living in the darkness.
Happy and prosperous New year to all. Grace and love of God be with you all!!!
