Jesus And The Beloved Disciple

John 21:20-25

After Jesus had resurrected from death he appeared to his disciples for 40 days in Jerusalem. Before his ascension he commanded his disciples to wait in Jerusalem to receive holy spirit and continue to witness for him in Judea, Samaria and the whole world and his disciples with great joy accepted the commandment and returned home. Few days later disciples were forgot about their commitment and started living their former way of life. Jesus was waited for them to come back and follow him but disciple fail to understand the purpose of their call and busy with their routine work. As usual disciple was busy with their routine work (casting net in the sea)Jesus was awaiting for them on sea shore as soon as disciples saw Jesus on sea shore they were happy to be with him and with Jesus presence  their mind and heart got changed and they re-dedicated themselves to witness for Christ

Let’s reflects on word “ you follow me”

The word “ you follow me”  is an individual invitation from Jesus to follow him. At this current situation shepherd is continuously calling his sheeps to follow him and take rest under his protection but his sheeps are busy with routine work and fail to recognize shepherd’s voice, thus shepherd’s flock scattered in the world and shepherd is in search of his own sheep to give redemption and looking for good shepherd to lead his flock. Always remember God never force anyone to accept his call for redemption it is a voluntary action accepted by humankind. In the salvation history God never forced or commanded Mary to accept the call to become a mother of Saviour rather God took consent from Mary and Mary said “Behold I am the handmaid of Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” Luke 1:38 thus we got salvation through Jesus. Similarly our redemption from this pandemic is in our hand. Today Jesus is calling each one of us to be a part of his mission and looking for prayer warrior like Moses, Esther and Daniel to stand for our nation to get rid of this pandemic situation.

Are we ready to say “Yes “ to Jesus call and follow him
