Reflection on the Gospel of the Tuesday

Matthew 23:23-26 |
The Scribes and the Pharisees adhered to the smallest of the commandments of the Law and were careful, come what may to keep the Law, like they had to give tithe for all products. For seasoning herbs like mint, dill, and cumin also they gave a tenth part tithe as well, but they neglected acts of mercy, justice and faith which were the core of the law. Jesus denounced this hypocrisy of the Scribes and Pharisees by summarizingly stating v-24,25: You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel! You clean the outside of the cup and of the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence
Contrasting a Gnat – a small unclean animal with a Camel, a large unclean animal and the idea of clean only from outside and very unclean from inside. Obeying the Law literally and dis-respecting the law in spirit. Do we in ardently do the same? Are we also good only in action/living? Holy Spirit help us understand your Word and to live according accordingly in spirit and truth.
