Reflection on the Gospel of the Saturday

Luke 11: 27-28 |
Jesus’ ministry in the world can be divided into 3 categories viz, Preaching, Teaching, Healing. Through his preaching many people came to Jesus and believed in Him; his preaching brought changes in the lives of people. As the People received deliverance from bondages, sickness, and loneliness, Jesus became the gate/the path for all people to reach God the Father, whom Jesus expressed as Love and as father. Jesus obeyed the will of God the Father and proclaimed salvation to the world and never expected any glory from any one. In this passage the people started praising not only Jesus but also his mother, thus Mary was praised by the people and Jesus also acknowledge it and praised Mary.
There are many woman who partook in salvation history like Deborah, Ruth, Rahab, Esther, Judith and Mary. Among them all, Mary shows us the way to respond to God and how God in turn brings us honour, as in Mary’s case, the triune God called her Blessed at the annunciation. This is part of the reason Mary is honoured by humanity even today. Through the Annunciation event God the Father greeted Mary “Hail Mary full of grace”.(Luke 1:28), Jesus the son of God praised Mary “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it”.(Luke 11:28), and the Holy spirit praised her, “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb” (Luke 1: 42). Mary got favour from God throughout her life as she believed and accepted God’s plans for her, trusting God to always do the best for her and also for His People.
Like, Mary if we too believe Gods promises and obey his will, we too shall be praised by the Trinity among angels and saints in the heaven. Open your hearts and accept the will of God, in your life.
