Reflection on the Gospel of the Tuesday In The Fourth Week Of Advent |
Luke 1:39-45 |
Blessed are you who believed!
This passage speaks of Mary and her outward approach to life. She has just been informed of her coming role as Queen Mother, to the Saviour of the World. The Creator God himself, who is going to be incarnate in and through her. But here is she, rushing to help this cousin of hers, who is advanced in age and going to bear a child for the first time.
Mary is the epitome of the symbol of what God’s disciple aught to be. Her attitude, her lifestyle, but also her relationship with God, stands out. Like her we too should open our lives to God and let Him reside in us. And we should carry him everywhere we go, just as Mary took him to Elizabeth’s Home. Even as we do this, especially in places of strife and difficulties, we need to invite God residing is us to bless the situations and scenarios. Invite Him to spread His fragrance to everyone and everywhere, we go. I pray this becomes a living reality as we present ourselves to the Infant Jesus in the stable, worship Him, pledge our allegiance to Him and pray that he come and lives in us and hallow our lives and the lives around us.

An excellent reflection in preparation for Jesus’ birthday.Yes we need to be like Mother Mary by humbly reaching out to the needy.
