Reflection on the Gospel of the Second Sunday of Easter
|
John 20: 19-31 |
Yesterday’s Gospel reading from Mark highlighted Mary Magdalene, Two Disciples and Jesus commissioning the Disciples. Today we have practically the same reading but from the Gospel of John; Jesus Appears to the Disciples, Jesus and Thomas and the Purpose of the Gospel of John. And what John is saying like Mark, is that having read about Jesus, check the facts for yourself like Thomas, with a genuine desire for truth in your life. And when you encounter it believe and be Born Again/Baptised in the Lord Jesus Christ.
God’s Word reveals to us the Truth. It liberates us from the confusion of this world and gives us home, purpose and direction. Take the time and effort to read scripture, to better understand your relationship with God and it will come alive, because God will reveal Himself to you.
Come Holy Spirit imbibe in us a great desire to grow in relationship with the Father, Son and You. fill us with a desire to read the Bible and grow into You. Amen
