Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday
|
Mark 1: 40-45 |
Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, let’s reflect on this. Are we willing to associate with the outcast, like Jesus? Leprosy was a feared disease, and lepers were thought to be the living dead. People kept their distance or even ran away from them. And here is Jesus, He touched this leper and made him clean, today let us go that extra mile to reach out to others, let us stretch ourselves to bring good to others.
The leper knowing his own state came in full humility before Jesus and inquired in humility, ‘ If you are willing, you can make me clean.’ What is our way of approach the Lord, in our time of need/want, how do we stand in front of the Lord, are we humble or demanding or bargaining with the Lord. Let us come in humility in Jesus’ presence, let us surrender our authority, right and will to God, so that we experience his healing in our life. And having experienced Him, we go out and proclaim Him to the world.
Holy Spirit help us to live our lives bringing all glory to You and proclaim Your healing touch/Presence in our life.
