Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday Of The First Week In Ordinary Time |
Mark 1:40-45 |
In the Gospel of Mark, we see right from the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, Healings and Miracles, its only the end of first chapter and we see Jesus moved with compassion raises the dead and Jesus Cleansing a Leper. In those days Lepers were regarded as the living dead, they were outcasts and were separated from others. Leprosy was a disease with a significant impact on human lifestyle during biblical times. Jesus heals and restores back this persons dignity. Jesus chooses to touch him and heal him. He could have healed him from far, but such action and courage was an unheard act of compassion. Let us surrender our unclean-being our dead self to Jesus and cry “If you choose, you can make me clean.” Come Holy Spirit help me in my pray and be able to come before the Lord to receive his Love, compassion and touch.
