Reflection on the Gospel of the Tuesday
|
Mark 3: 31-35 |
In todayโs Gospel story, we have a revelation of what intimacy means for Jesus. Donโt you hear a gentleness, not a sharpness, in Jesusโ voice?
Mary was called blessed among Women not for the bond of blood with Jesus, but because she was the Women the one whose response to Godโs messenger led to the Incarnation. In a culture where blood relationships counted heavily, Jesus by saying โ๐๐๐ค๐๐ซ๐๐ง ๐๐ค๐๐จ ๐ฉ๐๐ ๐ฌ๐๐ก๐ก ๐ค๐ ๐๐ค๐ ๐๐จ ๐ข๐ฎ ๐๐ง๐ค๐ฉ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐จ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐๐ง ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ข๐ค๐ฉ๐๐๐ง” is pointing to a deeper relationship that is the intimacy or union with our Abba Father. This is the invitation which He still extends to all of us even today.
Oh my! What a privilege to be invited by Jesus to call God my Abba Father and He in turn recognizes me as one of His family members. What more assurance do I need that Jesus walks with me?
