Reflection on the Gospel of the TuesdayIn The Sixth Week Of Easter |
John 16:5-11 |
The relationship between God and humanity went for a toss with the fall of Adam & Eve. No longer was God a part of the life of humanity, and humanity became incomplete. In this incompleteness it tried to fend for itself. It assumed things and drove itself further from truth and reality, the truth about it’s identity and the reality of God’s unconditional love of it. Accordingly, its doubt of Gods intent and association with it, deprived them of the wisdom of living. Yes it had knowledge, but no life (wisdom), because life and wisdom was/is connected with out spiritual connection with God. And with the Fall of Adam/Eve, Humanity had died spiritually.
And Jesus in this Gospel Passage is promising, an advancement in the repairing of humanities relationship with God. But to advance we need to understand truth, and understand it in its proper context. To do this, Jesus promises an advocate, a guide who will reveal the truth as God created it. Yes God Himself – God the Holy Spirit.
