Reflection on the Gospel of the Friday In The Thirty-Fourth Week In Ordinary Time |
Luke 21:29-33 |
When we go to a doctor for a diagnosis, we are asked various questions and then we realize how the signs/ symptoms that were seen but ignored, were intrinsically linked to the illness. If we are lucky, the illness is diagnosed in advance, but sometimes, the illness has reached the final stage and we have to only wait with patience to face the end.
Jesus, also was warning the people of similar signs through this parable. Throughout his ministry, he warned the people of the end times and to recognise the signs that the day of judgement was close and they had to turn back to the Lord in repentance.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass! During this season of advent, let us reflect on the signs that we see around us and take this opportunity to make an earnest effort to come back to the Lord and ‘listen’ to his word.
