Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday

Matthew 1:1-16, 18-23 |
“Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and his name shall be called Emmanuel” (v.23)
Mary’s obedience to the will of God opens the door for our salvation, the eternal Word, The Lord chose Mary’s womb for his coming here on this earth. For the Incarnation, the Holy Living God, needed a Holy Vessel and Mary’s womb became this holy vessel, the tabernacle to carry the Lord. The promise given through Isaiah is fulfilled in Mary; indeed it is a sign, deeper than the deepest ocean, and higher than the heavens (Isaiah 7:10f). Through the gift of Mary, we experience God’s presence, “God with us.”
Joseph accompanies Mary in her YES to the angel, He accompanies in her virginal conception by the Spirit and in all her challenges, Holy Spirit help us to imitate Jesus through our imitation of Mary and Joseph.
