Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday Of The Twenty-First Week In Ordinary Time |
Matthew 24:42-51 |
V-46 Blessed is that slave whom his master will find at work when he arrives.
The faithful slave who is found at work even, even at an unexpected hour is rewarded and blessed and put in charge of all the masters possessions. To keep awake, to be ready, to be mindful and attentive is the key to today’s scripture reading. It is reminding us and alerting us of our initial call and way of living. We are crafted in God’s image and likeness and have been given responsibility over everything, we are care takers and coordinators on God’s behalf.
If we are living this call, than we need to be always ready for an audit, if any, at any time. ‘Coordinating’ here is, to be in constant touch and conversation with the Lord regarding our living, lifestyle, responsibilities and challenges. The Lord gives multiple opportunities in our life to correct ourselves and fall back on to proper ways of living. Let us grab these opportunities and reminders given to us, let us give up our laziness and our unwanted preoccupied time. Holy Spirit help us to stay connected to you, be rooted in faith and good works, help us to read and to respond to your call at any given time.
