Reflection on the Gospel of the Saturday In The Tenth Week Of Ordinary Time |
Matthew 5: 33-37 |
God choose Israel people and gave them commandment to live healthy and holy life. As and when they obeyed the commandment they flourish in the promise land. As and when they disobeyed the commandment they become languish in foreign land. Disobedience lead the Israel people towards perishing condition, to re-instate their condition many scribes and teachers of Law araised and condemned their action and lead towards grow in their life. As time passed on these group of people started imposed many law and made them slave to Law. Many time people without understanding and half hearted followed the Law for their welfare of the life.
Jesus when he lived in Nazareth he looked around and saw people were living their life in poverty, slavery, and sickness. There is no one to redeem them from the burden of Law, poverty and sickness, so Jesus started his ministry in Nazareth and taught them the importance of Law. Today’s Gospel passage is part of Jesus Sermon on mount to people. Through his sermon he taught various teaching like Blessed people, salt and light, anger, oaths etc. Regarding oath Jesus suggested do not take oath at all either on people or God (Temple). Always speak positive and stay positively,(yes) avoid unnecessary argument (No) If we are taking oath in the name of God then its our responsibility to fulfil it at any cost.
Lets us reflect in our life am I following Jesus suggestion in my life, if not then how am I going to do in my life
