Reflection on the Gospel of the Saturday In The First Week Of Lent |
Matthew 5: 43-48 |
God choose Jews people as his own and formed Israel nation. To live holy and happy life God gave 10 commandments to them, thus Israel people become role model for entire world. Israel people closely followed the commandment and stand examples for others. As per their law they loved and did favour to their own kinfolk and hated their enemy. In order to give the importance to the law Jesus taught them to love their enemy and pray for their persecute. Lets reflect on the word “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you”
As per human nature we love and do good things to our own and loved ones and expect rewards or good return from the people. Very often instead of good returns we receive hurt and hatred from our loved ones. In later stage it become revenge in our heart and all negative thoughts, emotions, feeling, deposited in to our hearts which lead no fruit to own self, family and society. Many times these deposits lead to various physical and mental sickness, today Jesus is giving us a remedies for these type of sickness ie. Start loving your enemy and pray for their wellness then lord shall bless us with His heavenly blessing. When we start praying for our enemy which may lead them for conversion of heart and they become children of god thus whole heaven rejoice on conversion of heart and sinners
God will be happy on conversion of group sinner rather than group of righteous. Many saints in the initial stage of spreading Christianity prayed and loved their enemy which result into form Christian community. Do you want blessing or reward from god then start doing good deeds to our persecutor and evil doers. Lets pray to holy spirit to fill our hearts with spirituals gifts to love our enemy.
