Reflection on the Gospel of the Friday

Mark 4: 26-34 |
Jesus used parables to explain the truths to the people. The teachings had to be explained to the common people in relatable terms, for them to understand it and apply it in their lives. He gives an example of a farmer who starts sowing seeds, and continues his daily routine of activities. When the crop is ready, he goes to harvest the crop. He is not aware of how the seed sprouts and grows etc , and lets it follow the natural process of growth.
The Kingdom of God is also like this seed. God takes care of its growth and makes sure that it grows from a tiny start and spreads like branches of a huge tree and thus bears much fruit. These parables proclaim the nature of God’s kingdom and call for trust and confidence in the Lord and his mission.
The message that Mark has for his readers is that we should not be worried about the outcome of the efforts but rather ensure that we give our 100% while spreading the Word of God. The Lord will ensure the establishment of his Kingdom.
