John 17:1-11a
I see Love in everything that Jesus does in this moment, when he is praying for his disciples. He knows that he is going to die very soon, yet he is focussing on two very important relationships. His relationship with God, where paramount is the fact that he has faithful carried out his mission. The second, his relationship with his disciple. He loves them, and he realises what is going to be the situation soon; they will desert him, and they will be like Sheep astray, without direction, and filled with guilt. He prays for them, that they pass the coming testing. He approaches the father and conveys to him how the Disciples have grown from being filled with silly worldly understanding of things, to now understanding the message he brings for the world and for them. They have matured (though they will need the affirming presence of the Holy Spirit), and they have understood who he is and and accepted this, unlike the Pharisees and other Jews. He asks his Father to keep them in his presence and strengthen them.
We all need to grow in love. Lets approach Jesus and ask him to reveal with more clarity What is of God, His Word, And bring us to the presence of the Father.
