John 6: 1-15
During his short ministry of 3 years, Jesus went about healing the sick, bringing the dead back to life, and tirelessly preaching the Word of God and converting the hearts of the people. The People followed him to see more and experience more. In today’s passage Jesus does another miracle of making the people share whatever they had. Each of them had carried food to provide for themselves but when shared, it was sufficient for all and the apostles could gather 12 baskets of leftovers. Jesus combined prayer and action beautifully. The Lord knows our daily basic needs and is concerned about us and also provides for it. We also can repeat what the Lord does, look around and reach out to share our time, energy, our resources and most of all our love, reflecting the love of Christ! A Christian does not live for himself but should always be at the service of others.
