Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday Of The Twenty-Second Week In Ordinary Time |
Luke 5:1-11 |
“Master, we toiled all night and took nothing! But at your word I will let down the nets.”
We work day and night, many a times at work and our experience, efforts, abilities, all are in vain. At this moment do we let the Lord our disappointments, do we allow him to speak to us, guide us. The Lord already knows our issues and problems. Jesus got into Simons boat before he instructed him about the net , we are privileged to have Jesus in our lives, who knows our worries and is ready to instruct us, so we are filled with abundance of life. Let us learn to give a listening ear to him, surrender our authority and power to him, allowing him to bless us.
The Lord has chosen us to expand his work and kingdom, are we willing to work in his kingdom? Simon, Andrew, James and John left everything and followed him, This action is difficult to understand; it seems like fishing for them a training period and they were waiting for a correct break. We are already God’s chosen representative, let us gather everyone to his feet, as if we were fishers of men. Holy Spirit help us identify your call in our lives and give us courage to adhere to the responsibilities you have given us.
