John 8:1-11
The Lord never condemns us, even if we are caught in the act of grave sin. Even in situations like this, The Lord sees an opportunity, and blesses the person with a Mission. GO, sin no more, in itself is a mission. It’s a challenge to turn away from sin with immediate effect. It requires God’s Grace, and this grace is directly supplied by the Lord. He is always more close to us, then we realise.
The Lord teaches us to spend time in prayers, so that we can discern, self guard, and not fall prey to attacks. Because in this passage we see this is a trap, only Jesus’ temperament to ask God for wisdom helps him through this episode.
The scribes and the Pharisees had no say about the Woman, but they wanted to trap Jesus. The Lord is All loving all Kind, All Merciful, He not only let the Woman go, but also the scribes and the Pharisees.
Many a times when learned and wise try to test us, we too must be patient with them, and let them go with their dignity intact.
At times we focus and spend time and research on things which are not so important, like what Jesus wrote on the ground, rather we need to be focused on what is directly in front of our eyes and what we need to take home. We shouldn’t fails to notice God’s Love for everyone, evident in this passage. This is how we can take to heart, understand and live the Spirit of the Law.
Let us prayer for the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, so we be enabled to live in accordance with God’s heart, like him.
