Matthew 17: 1b-9 |
The transfiguration of our Lord. It’s a feast the Church celebrates for a reason. A revelation of Jesus’ divinity to Peter, James and John. The moment of being present in the Divine Presence of Jesus, the Son of God and the Heavenly Father that confirms Jesus’ divine authority is too awesome for the disciples that they were terrified.
We too have the glory of Jesus, his real presence in the Holy Eucharist. Yet we are unable to fathom the awesome, wonderful presence. However, like the disciples we too come down from the mountain and live the mundane even though we have experienced the glory of God.
Therefore, the challenge for us is how can we truly bring the glory of Jesus into our life so that he may be able to transfigure our hearts.
