John 20:1-9
He is Alive! Jesus has won the battle over evil. Through Jesus’ passion, death and his resurrection we can hope for life, a new life. We too were called during lent to fight our own battles with evil. We were called to die to ourselves through sacrifice, penance, avoiding sin and temptation and develop a closer relationship with Jesus. So, if were able to die to ourselves then we can hope for a transformed life in the light of Jesus’ resurrection. A true and real transformation that helps us to continue to move forward in the light of Christ rather than looking back and being enslaved in the darkness of evil all over again. This Easter isn’t the finish line but a step in the right direction. The journey with our risen Christ should continue so that we too can be witnesses of his resurrection just like Mary Magdalene, Peter and the other disciple.
Jesus calls us to be his light. Have we done enough to shine brightly?
