Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday
|
Luke 17: 20-25 |
We, too, have the same issue as the Pharisees in today’s gospel, although in different form and thought. When/where is God’s Kingdom? Is it true? what we must do to achieve it, is it a specific place?
Jesus gave a simple and straightforward answer: the kingdom of God is among you – i.e. He himself – Jesus. If we fail to understand this, we will without doubt have the same question and struggle as the Pharisees. God’s kingdom is among us, thus our family, neighbours, and society have all become members of the Kingdom; how do we approach them? Do we behave like a brother/sister of Jesus/Kingdom of God. Are we the Heirs of the Kingdom?
From Today Gospel we must drive one important message that, God is real, tangible, and lives among us. He is there with us all throughout. Jesus also speak about HIS suffering and rejection therefore our own anguish and rejection are not meaningless, but vehicles of God’s grace in our lives today, if Jesus, the Lord God, had to suffer – it shows us that He has shown us the route of perfection.
Holy Spirit help us to pray, talk to Jesus, help us with your Knowledge and understanding, and the grace to see God among us/with us.
