Reflection on the Gospel of the Wednesday
|
Matthew 13: 1-9 |
Jesus is near the sea of Galilee, and the crowd is coming in. He is inspired to speak and to speak about them, i.e. the crowd and their situation. He knows He is sowing the word of God among them. He also knows that each individual in the crowd is ready at different levels to listen to the Good News.
- Some are just tagging along with friends and family.
- Some who have come are in two boats about what they want in life, Yahweh/Jesus, other gods or other things.
- Some are delighted to listen to Jesus’ words, but will get side-tracked.
- While the rest who have been fashioned by life, will pay heed to Jesus’, and commit to God, remain with Him and bear abundant fruit.
All these are stages, stages that everyone of us goes through. God’s word is effective and living. Do you believe this? Than do not give up on yourself. Believe and trust Jesus/the Holy Spirit. He will bring you to completeness.
