The Feeding of the Five Thousand

God is generous. He knows what we need even before we ask him. But the question is do we know what we truly need? We often struggle and get anxious about life simply because we have too many wants distracting us. We pursue it no matter what. But then there are also genuine needs which help us survive. Financial stress, ill health, spiritual darkness all of it make our lives miserable. However, in each of our lives Jesus comes as the Bread of Life – to be eaten, to be consumed by us. This is how He loves us and strengthens us to carry on. He will sustain us if we let him. Similarly, we are called to sustain others with service rooted in the love of Christ.
