Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday In The Fourth Week Of Advent |
Luke 1: 46-56 |
This song of praise, shows Marian devotion existing in St. Luke, the author of today’s Gospel Readings community.
The role model for the community role was Mary. It understood and appreciated Mary’s challenges to say yes to God for all the adventure he had lined up for her, as the Mother of God. This Magnificat teaches us to place our hope and trust in the Lord Jesus, and like her praise God in all situations. She also represents and is a type of what our own response needs to be to God, and even as she points out in the Magnificat, and Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount, that if we accept the lowliness that life throws at us with acceptance and love, we will find God in our lives, right besides and inside us.
