Matthew 14: 22-33 |
Jesus walks on water… It’s a moment that blockbuster movies are made of with the thrill of adventure is mixed with fear. The Guide in our adventure is basically Jesus. We need to trust in him to get us through the challenges and storms enroute. However, most often we are like Peter – we are enthusiastic to begin the adventure, love the thrill but lose trust in our Guide when we focus too much on the fear generated by the storm and have lost our focus from Jesus, our Guide.
Thus we often fail to listen to his voice distracted by the inner egoistic voice that has its own agenda. We make choices that make us sink in life but even then there’s hope. Calling out to the Lord for help is surely going to work out. Jesus will step in with his lending hand and we will be saved by bringing our focus back on him.
In the storms of life, we need to be still and know that he is GOD
