Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday

John 1: 43-51 |
Do we as friends talk and have discussions on the the word of God, are we eager to live the scripture. From Philip and Nathanael’s short conversation we can draw that they were very close friends, studying and discussion scripture regularly and probably were very much aware of everything to do with the Messiah and the Kingdom of God. Just around them, because of their friendship and relationship, Philip knew words would not convince, justify or explain his Messiah experience to Nathanael, The best thing Philip could offer Nathaniel, he did, “come and see”
Today, like Philip we can implement the same way of proclaiming the Lord Jesus to those around us, “come and see.” We need not be eloquent speakers to proclaim the word, just do our part in the Kingdom, invite friends to meet the Lord and the Lord Jesus will do the rest. When Nathaniel did visit Jesus, Jesus took over from where Phillip had finished, and Nathanael was filled with joy when he came to know that Jesus knew him and his issues from before. Nathanael was awe struck and Jesus praised him, “Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!”
Let us invite other like Philip, and also let us come in the presence of the Lord like Nathanael, with any deceit, let us experience the Lord’s grace and praise, let us believe and work in his kingdom for God’s greater glory.
Holy Spirit help me to work in your kingdom give me the strength to proclaim the word in small and simple ways.
