Reflection on the Gospel of the Saturday
|
Mark 16: 9-15 |
Mark’s is a very brief Gospel. He does not elaborate on the more fancy things or wait to give too many explanations. He is to the point – Jesus is Lord, He is vocal, even His Disciples did not fully understand Jesus’ Teachings, nor did they fully believe in His Resurrection, until Jesus personally intervened and revealed Himself to them. We already see the elaboration of today’s Gospel Text in the other Three Gospels. Mark wants to cry out – ‘Jesus is Lord and He sits with the Father, come and worship Him.’ Worship Him by believing – believing Him for His divinity, His incarnation – and believe by living the life He commands us to live.
Come Holy Spirit, help us believe in Jesus, help us see Him as He mixes with us in our everyday life, helping us. Turn our unbelief to Joy as you help us notice His Presence in and around us. Amen.
