Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday

Matthew 18:21-19:1 |
Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times.
As human and weak as we are we take our weakness, challenges, thoughts, doubts, questions to the Lord. Every time the Lord gives us new and surprising answers and remedies for which most of the times we are not ready or willing and just give up. Our surrender, prayers and the answers we were seeking for all fall in vain. In todays scripture reading Peter asked Jesus about forgiveness for which he was probably just seeking a confirmation answer in a yes. Jesus explains this very important topic of forgiveness in a parable where everyone from wise to foolish must have understood the importance and differences of just obeying a law and living the law, but how much did they or we today take it seriously. Forgiving without any measure is the key to understanding life.
The Lord forgives us every time we approach him, we are to do the same with others. The Lord is telling us to relate with others the same relationship and love he bestows on us. Forgive-love-mercy are the principle teaching by word and action given to us by the Lord Jesus. Today we still struggle to live this teaching. Holy Spirit help us to understand and live the action of forgiving, loving and being merciful, seventy times seven.
