Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday

John 8: 51-59 |
Whoever keeps my word will never see death. Jesus here speaks not of the experience of bodily death, but we will be saved from spiritual death. Jesus promises us the gift of eternal life. Jesus claims “Before Abraham was, I AM”. Jesus is one with God, Jesus is God. He has neither beginning nor end. Abraham was subjected to the normal human life cycle of birth and death, Jesus existences is different from that of Abraham. Jesus is God and He already exists from all eternity. Jesus is enabling us to enter into this everlasting life. The eternal life we can have by the simple but profound deed of keeping His Word. Are we ready to listen? Are we ready to keep his word? Are we going to make His Word our home?
Holy Spirit help us to to abide in Jesus. Help us to listen and work with His Word.
