Reflection on the Gospel of the Twelfth Sunday
|
Matthew 10: 26-33 |
If God knows and cares about the sparrows, how much more significantly does he know and care about you and me. In our busy and mundane life, it is easy to forget that God cares about each one of us so deeply because he didn’t create us as an after thought but he created us as a first thought in love. All of creation was given to us as a dowry with that love.
It may sound cliché when we hear that God loves us so much that he knows everything about our lives, nothing too small or insignificant, big or heavy, he knows the hidden and our true selves. He is interested in us and wants us to reciprocate his love. Therefore God gives us a choice to accept his free gift of love or deny his love for the temporal stuff in this world.
A reason so often, I find myself more comfortable with just meeting the needs of my body and neglect the love of my soul. A healthy soul, mind and body is what the Lord can give. He can truly unclog that mess within? Why do we find it so hard to let go?
