Reflection on the Gospel of the Monday Of The Fourth Week In Ordinary Time |
Mark 5:1-20 |
The demoniac in this story is a gone case. He is totally under the sway of evil.
Jesus wants a little time with his disciples he wants to teach them in private, and so disembarks on the shore of Gerasene. But he is confronted with the demon processed man. The evil in the man wants to control and overcome Jesus. He knows who Jesus is and wants to overpower Jesus, before should Jesus overpower them. That is why the mention of Jesus’ name by the demon – for it was understood that if you knew the Name of anyone, you could control him.
But Jesus cannot be controlled by mere human thought. He is is the author of Life. And he breathes life into the possessed man. He sets him free.
Are you in a hopeless situation… in a scenario you want out? Do you want answers to life?
Jesus is the man. He can provide answers and solutions no one else can provide. As you can see at the end of the story, you see the man free from all his demons and sane. Filled with hope, direction and purpose.
Try him!
