Unclean, unclean most of us consider ourselves unclean especially with regards to sin. In the First Reading, Moses and Aaron are concerned with leprosy being a state of uncleanness while in the Second Reading Paul condemns the attitude of a divides church for Jews or Gentiles. St. Paul states that everyone should imitate him by not being discriminate towards others because Christ Jesus didn’t discriminate against any Jew or Gentile from receiving the Gospel.  Man may discriminate based on class, wealth, education, lifestyle, religion and region but God doesn’t discriminate.  He welcomes everyone who seeks him. In the Gospel, Jesus shows us by example that he heals the people who are unclean. It could be uncleaness in the heart due to sin, uncleaness in the body due to a disease or uncleaness in the mind due to lack of love. The cure isn’t alienation or discrimination but the healing of God that makes a person whole body, mind and spirit.
What makes you unclean? Or do we look at ourselves as especially clean compared to all the others in our community? Are we imitating Christ? Do we work towards glorifying God?
