To Be Elected By God

Saturday of the Third Week in Ordinary Time

Psalms 96:1-2a, 2b-3, 7-8a, 10

Gospel
Luke 10:1-9

2 Tm 1:1-8
Mass of Memorial

Everyone is called, and everyone is invited to God’s Presence and there become the salt and light of the world, through imbibing the Beatitudes at Jesus’ feet. But some of us are busy or distracted by other things, and when we do have the time to look for God’s call, we either realise that time has passed, others have gained and you are at a loss, because you ignored when God called out to you like Samuel. We are like the fox who could not reach the grapes, so he called the grapes sour.

But the reality is much deeper, it is never to late to respond to God’s call, only thing is that in the process of choosing other things, we have covered our ears; layers upon layers, and so have become cold and deaf to God’s constant call to us. But the reality as it stands is that God is impartial, and loves everyone equally. And being the same yesterday, today and forever – He still calls out to us and awaits us. We need to understand this Truth, and having understood it, now run to Him.

Be warned do not desire to be sent, rather desire to be discipled! This is important. Even as you are discipled you will awaken to your call, because the love of Jesus in you will open the doors to fulfill you completely by teaching you to pour yourself in order to be filled…
