On Mount Moriah, Abraham was tested. On Mount Tabor, the Transfiguration occurred. On Mount Calvary, Jesus was crucified. In the Bible, mountains are special places. It is a place where God comes and meets man. It is a place of intimacy with a divine encounter that transforms life.

Abraham was asked to sacrifice his only begotten son because God wanted to know if Isaac was Abraham’s God. But Abraham had learnt to trust God, he was now mature in his faith to let God have anything and everything and the reward was a covenant of blessings. During Lent we often make sacrifices hoping for petitions to be answered and expecting blessings but the truth is that we are constantly blessed with God’s presence. We don’t have to be at Mount Tabor always to experience the Spiritual high. Jesus is with us all the time and if we are aware of it, we may have a life changing perspective. Growing in intimacy with God is the best blessing man can receive. It is awesome to experience challenges that are broken, when a snare set before you, never worked or impossible situations become possible when we walk with God.

The beauty of life can be appreciated in living life in God’s presence now, for if we wait to experience God only in heaven we might just end up losing Him while on earth. The journey is more rewarding than the destination.

Bible Verse For Today

From the shining cloud the Father’s voice is heard: This is my beloved Son, listen to him.
