“Peace be with you”, when all hope is lost, when there’s sadness, anxiety and fear. The Lord shows up and assures us that He is alive and wants to be with each one of us through the most difficult moments of our lives and always. Through the appearances of Jesus after His death and burial, we are faced with a new reality of the resurrection. The author of life gives us new life an opportunity to die and rise again through Him.
According to the First Reading St Peter states that it was our sins that lead Jesus to the cross but even that has been forgiven if we desire to repent and live a life in him. Most of us struggle with a particular sin that makes us give up easily. I guess we try to fight it on our strength and thus give up. The Easter story of Jesus’ resurrection should give us hope that we can overcome and truly be free from sin if we have faith of Jesus’ power of conquering all our sins and winning the battle for us. We must live a good life in Jesus’ victory for us. Yes, the battle has been won so why are we struggling?
The resurrection of Jesus brings a tremendous transformation in the lives of the apostles, the disciples and communities of the early church. That power still exists today and is available to us as well. Let us reflect on the immense blessing of the resurrection to transform our lives.
