Today’s readings tell us of a good, patient God, who loves us. Has always loved us, even though we have been horrible to Him, and rejected/pushed Him out of our lives.

  • This highlights the truth of the words where in the First Reading He is saying, ‘my love for you is more that a nursing mother, or that of a woman’s love for the child within her womb.’
  • This is further highlighted by Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, who came to save us, not because we invited Him to come, but He loved us so much, that He came Himself into the pigsty where we were/are living.
  • He came to save us from this pigsty existence, and help us to remember God’s love for us, and the life we can enjoy with him (Sort of like the Prodigal Son).

In the Gospel reading, Jesus is identifying Himself as God – Light from Light, God from God, begotten of the Father, like Him in all ways, because He is God Himself and He has come to save us.

The Psalm (Source: https://bible.usccb.org/bible/readings/031324.cfm)

R. (8a) The Lord is gracious and merciful. (when reading this remember God Loves you, has not ever forgotten you, or placed you second and died to save you)

The LORD is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and of great kindness.
The LORD is good to all
and compassionate toward all his works.

R. The Lord is gracious and merciful.

The LORD is faithful in all his words
and holy in all his works.
The LORD lifts up all who are falling
and raises up all who are bowed down.

R. The Lord is gracious and merciful.

The LORD is just in all his ways
and holy in all his works.
The LORD is near to all who call upon him,
to all who call upon him in truth.

R. The Lord is gracious and merciful.

Bible Verse For Today

I am the resurrection and the life, says the Lord; whoever believes in me will never die.
