When we hear the words, ‘My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me,‘ there are a few things that jump out.

  1. A personal experience of the Good Shepherd, through your personal interaction with Him.
  2. This interaction builds in you a confidence, based on personal experience, as to who God is and is not.
  3. Based on your interaction with Him, you get to see things from God’s eye view.
    • You learn what is right and wrong according to Him
    • You learn to have full trust in Him, because you have come to know Him and his character.
    • You now can trust Him, based on your experience and knowledge of Him, even in things you do not have understanding in, and no understanding is given.
  4. In this context the line – when the sheep/us hear God’s voice, we are able to differentiate who it is – God or someone else, accept what He is asking of Us, and even though personally frightful/distasteful, we readily follow Him.

These are the sheep who follow Jesus. We also can have a closer walk with Jesus in our lives. Go and read/study His Word, Meditate on It, And take it to Him in Prayer. Show your desire for Him. Don’t make it a once in a blue moon experience/exercise – that is not desire. Follow Him.

Bible Verse For Today

Alleluia, alleluia. My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord;I know them, and they follow me. Alleluia, alleluia.
