Faith is the result of a process.

First you need to come to a deep understanding of a process or person. Then based on this knowledge, you come to know what the process can do, when it can do and how it will do. Likewise with a person, when you know the person, you grow to understand the moods of a person, when they come, how the person will function is a given situation, and you have complete confidence of your knowledge of the person.

So also with Jesus/God. When you take the timeout to learn of Him and from Him, you grow in a personal relationship with Him. This relationship gives you a deep understanding of how God’s heart beats for each and every thing in creation, especially in a definite way for all humanity. You understand what it means to love like God, and you grow appreciative of Him. You now understand the problems that surround, but also that God never fails anyone, and He will lead you to victorious living and you don’t need to worry about anything.

Jesus, in today’s Gospel reading, comes and chides the Apostles for their unbelief, because they have been with Him for 3 years now, and they have learnt everything of who He is, and He being God, they have learnt about God and His faithfulness. yet, they let themselves be swayed by their fear, grief and self-opinion. They lost focus of their relationship with Him. And by coming in their presence, He dispels the gloom of the darkness of negativity and self-importance, surrounding them. He gives them an outward/self-outpouring focus – “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.

We have grown over the years with a lack of experience about God, but knowledge of who He is. The reason nothing happens around us is because we have not applied that knowledge in living our lives. We are sitting on the fence deciding how much and how much not to live what we know. The only thing we need to do is jump off the fence and live what we can, even if it is little, of the little we believe. If we believe God is here, do that, and turn to Him and speak to Him. You believe God provides for you, trust Him to provide, don’t despair and grumble like the Israelites in the desert, but confidently ask. The key here is doing what little you can, with confidence and trust. Blessing your little, and enlarging that is not for you and I to worry. That is God’s business, trust him to bless the little you bring to the table…
