Sin As Anchors

Spiritually we can be likened to a ship, and this ship needs to flow in the River of Life (Holy Spirit), who continuously is transforming us and renewing us. But we also need to have Jesus in our Ship as the anchor (security) of our life. In sinning we are dropping anchors every time we indulge is sin.

Who is God? We can call Him Creator, the Originator of everything, the supreme being who controls everything, the terrifying Lord of the cosmos, etc. But those are titles and actions, who is He really? Is He unapproachable? Is He indifferent? The closest that I can get to express who He really is, is that He is Good, he is Love and He is Father.

In giving the Law, God makes us aware of what is life and good, death and evil. But like the perfect gentleman that He is, he does not impose upon us, His will. He shows us that we may make an informed choice and decision.
