Its Holy Week, where Jesus the King of Creation suffered, was crucified and resurrected. Was Holy Week necessary if the celebration of this Day, Palm Sunday, were genuine to the full limit and all the Jews were there to welcome the King.

A sacrifice to be acceptable was required to be blemish free. Jesus is blameless and free of all wrong doings and perfect in all sense.

Never See Death

In the beginning of the Bible, it tells/shows us in Genesis that the perfection of human life, as walking with God. If we take that symbolism and develop on it, then not to be able to walk with God means death.

The Word of God

Besides the theme of the ‘Word of God’, another theme evident in today’s Gospel Reading is blindfolds or our wearing of coloured glasses and therefore seeing a coloured and a biased truth.

Humility

Abraham showed great faith in God, when he went up the peak, where he was asked to sacrifice Isaac. God reciprocated, by sending His Son to be the pleasing and redeeming sacrifice.

Justice

The theme of todays readings is ‘justice’. God is just, we are told, but do we know what is God’s Justice? For us God’s justice is to do with punishment and paying the cost, that is a strict and totalitarian God meting out judgement on people for their actions.
