Reflection on the Gospel of the Wednesday In The Sixth Week Of Easter |
John 16: 12-15 |
“…therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”
The Church states that Jesus is the fullness of Revelation of the Father, and there is going to be no more revelation to add too who God is. Every other encounter one has with God finds its origin in the wellspring of Jesus’ Incarnation (life on earth), Passion, Death, Resurrection and Ascension and is termed as private. Jesus who knew all this, he knew that He has in the course of his life, especially the Three Years of Ministry, imparted/revealed everything that He knew – His relationship, knowledge, understanding and love, regarding the Father in Heaven. But the human mind is a fascinating thing and will ignore things, which it finds too difficult to understand or digest. One such thing that Jesus revealed was the Holy Spirit – difficult to understand, since we/they knew not Him, nor had heard about Him, nor did he make human common sense. But the Holy Spirit was also the remedy for such things. He would remind, bring understanding, conviction about everything that Jesus said – and provide the true understanding to these. He would help us identify God’s Truth in our daily lives and help us forge a living breathing relationship with God. He would help us make daily choices and identify the way forward in life, here and now.
Come Lord Holy Spirit, breathe upon us your presence and recreate us through the waters of our Baptism. Help us see and believe in you and Jesus, Help us, Guide us into a deeper relationship with You, Jesus and the Father. Lead us to the Fount/Wellspring of all Life that is the presence of God. Thank You. Amen.
