Reflection on the Gospel of the Thursday
|
Luke 19:41-44 |
Jesus’s movement towards Jerusalem brought in protests and opposition against Jesus. As in the Old Testament history, Jerusalem is repeatedly falling away from God, now here it is not the prophet’s who proclaim God’s word and pronounce the need for a change of way, but God himself. In spite of many signs and healings from Jesus, Jerusalem failed to recognise or see Jesus as The Messiah. Their wait was for a worldly saviour, Jesus laments over this disbelief of people and He weeps over the future doom of Jerusalem. Today do we see and recognise Jesus in our midst, are we mindful of his voice, is Jesus today joyful over our actions and ways. Are we at peace and in his presence.
Holy Spirit help us to change our ways and be at peace among our people, help us to recognise you amongst us.
